Mathematical Methods for Modeling Chemical Reaction Networks
Cancer's cellular behavior is driven by alterations in the processes that cells use to sense and respond to diverse stimuli. Underlying these processes are a series of chemical processes (enzyme-substrate, protein-protein, etc.). Here we introduce a set of mathematical techniques for describing and characterizing these processes.
متن کاملInfinite Dimensional Port Hamiltonian Representation of Chemical Reactors
Infinite dimensional Port Hamiltonian representation of non isothermal chemical reactors is proposed in the case of mass transport diffusion and chemical reaction without convection. The proposed approach uses thermodynamic variables. The presentation is given for one dimensional spatial domain by using the internal energy and the opposite of the entropy as hamiltonian functions.
متن کاملNumerical modeling for nonlinear biochemical reaction networks
Nowadays, numerical models have great importance in every field of science, especially for solving the nonlinear differential equations, partial differential equations, biochemical reactions, etc. The total time evolution of the reactant concentrations in the basic enzyme-substrate reaction is simulated by the Runge-Kutta of order four (RK4) and by nonstandard finite difference (NSFD) method. A...
متن کاملChaos Control in a Non-Isothermal Autocatalytic Chemical Reactor
In this paper, a reaction system consisting of two parallel, non-isothermal autocatalytic reactions in a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) has been considered. Reactor chaotic behavior is possible for certain values of system parameters. Two types of controllers are designed and compared in order to control both the reactor temperature and the product concentration. T...
متن کاملPort-Hamiltonian Modeling of Systems with Position-Dependent Mass
It is known that straightforward application of the classical Lagrangian and Hamiltonian formalism to systems with mass varying explicitly with position may lead to discrepancies in the formulation of the equations of motion. Systems with mass varying explicitly with position often arise from situations where the partitioning of a closed system of constant mass leads to open subsystems that exc...
